Went to cash machine tother day, drew out 20 quid... took my card and left the cash.

Didn't know they sucked the money back in for idiots - refunded 20 quid today. Luckily no one was waiting for the machine.

Ha. I nearly done this the other day. I'm so used to paying on my card, I think enter pin, job done, walk away..

Could be worse. I once went to the cash machine and it gave me half a £20 note.

Happened to my wife just before xmas, but with 150 quid - she just assumed a passer-by had got an early pressie but then a few days later the money was put back into her account.

Occasionally, the banks get something right!

Funny stuff man, i've left my card in the machine before after taking my cash, which isn't too bad. I'd be devastated if my cash went missing!

Back in the day the banks used to have to keep the money to the side until it receieved a claim from the link network (you had to go to your bank and tell them what happened, they'd contact Link and then Link would claim the bank the ATM belonged to). Now it's all so much easier.

Aye, the wee man in the machine pulls it back in then when they let him out at the end of his 24 hour shift it gets put back in your account. Unsung heroes.
