Avid Elixir 5 Lever Travel

Hello all,
used search and found nothing
Just fitted some Elixir 5s front and rear and although I'm very happy with them and they have great power and feel I'm not over the moon by the amount of travel before anything happens (roughly half of overall lever travel)
I've adjusted them to what feel like full extension (on the hex key adjustment 'inside' the lever) but I was hoping I could get them to engage a lot sooner. Is this just an Avid trait or am I missing something?
Cheers all

Yes they have. Take the wheels out, pump the levers a few times, then push the pads part way back, the levers will then be much firmer and will bite sooner. You might need to experiment with it, but it worked for me.0 -

They usually auto adjust back though as the pad wears - so might have to keep repeating it. Unless of course they were not correctly advanced to start. In which case letting them bed in will do the same thing.0

just let them bed in."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Well adjusted them and greatly reduced the deadband. They feel very positive now. No doubt I'll need to adjust as the pads wear in but all part of the game.
Thanks guys that's exactly what I was afterCube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0
