Hi Graeme
Yeah I'm doing this one, weather looking cool but sunny, should be a nice day on the bike.
Have a great ride0 -
I'm also doing this, I only live down the road in Redditch so I can ride to the start.
Looking forward to it, hope you have a good ride and save some energy for the big hill at about 40 miles.0 -
I'm doing it too but also havent ridden that far for a while, Ill be riding the Van Nic Mistral with the brown brooks saddle and bar tape!
Coming from Kings Heath which means i can ride to the start but makes it an 80 mile round trip - argh!!0 -
I'll be there with my Kinetic One. Not been ridden since the Exmoor beast last October - could be a bit of a wake-up call for the spring.
Cheers, MarkGenesis Croix de Fer - my new commuting mount
Saracen Hytrail - the workhorse - now pensioned off
Kinetic-One FK1 roadie - the fast one - hairy legs though!
Cannondale Jekyll Lefty MTB - the muddy one which keeps tipping me into gorse bushes!0 -
I'm doing it as it is local (Sutton Coldfield )- 2nd sportive ever, no training apart from commuting to work 18 miles round trip on a slicked MTB for the last 2 weeks. Hope the weather is better than The Rut last October (pi$$ed it down!).0

Excellent ride. Decent (if chilly\) weather, enjoyable route, excellent ride partners, great bacon rolls.
What more do you need?

thanks to everyone who turned out for the event
the weather was superb again!
some minor niggles on the day, had a sign removed and one turned around late on but that was quickly rectified
needed a couple more loos to keep the queue down
and definitely needed more cooks for the bacon baps
..otherwise a perfect day
look out for an Autumn event I'm in the early stages of planning!
cheers

Had a great day, weather couldn't of been better and it was great finally kicking of the start of the season!
I almost fell foul of the one sign that was turned round towards the end but luckily saw a couple of riders disappearing into the distance going in the right direction so managed to follow them. The bacon baps definitely need to be quicker though!
One note to make, I was disappointed to see one rider in front of me think he was on the tour de France and that it was ok to throw his used gel package at the side of the road, it doesn't take much effort to put it back in your pocket....0 -
