Right friday afternoon is always an afternoon off and i have finally managed to allocate a full afternoon to early eveing to be out on the bike and i am going to head to either Cwmcarn or over to Y Wal at Afan.

Opinions please as i have never been over to afan and wondered what its like in comparison to Cwmcarn

If anyone is around and wants to join in the fun let me know

I voted the wall but look at whites level at glyncorrwg just along the road from afan not much between the two but the climb is more interesting on whites level
Hope this helps and have fun

right, i live within 40 mins ride/10 mins drive of cwmcarn and i love the place....

however, the wall is my favourite ride anywhere, i love it, the singletrack is amazing, ok there's a little bit more fireroad climb but it actually feels shorter than cwmcarn even though its around 5km longer!!!

IMO i'd choose afan over cwmcarn everytime especially if you've already ridden cwmcarn :D

just my opinion, cwmcarn is great, the wall is better :D
  • ^ I new you would vote for the Wall :D

what you doing up this late?
  • Cheap wine and the Wii,

The Wall is a great Trail, at least 4 mile longer. but feels shorter. And the downs are great.

  • I picked Cwmcarn... Mostly because I found Afan a bit scary... and I don't mean the trails!

Unfortunately the local yobs put me off a bit

    Excellent trails though.
  • Just spent two days at Afan. Didn't see any "yobs". Where do they hang out?

The climb on the Wall is just so dull. When I lived in Bristol I'd regularly go and do 3 laps of Cwm Carn, wouldn't do that at the Wall.

Think White's is better, but not worth the extra drive on it's own.
