Avid Bleeding Query.

Received my Avid bleed kit today and before I Bleed the brakes I have a quick question. The manual states that the reach adjuster should not be so far out that the lever bottoms out on the body, now I have my lever set out as far as they go, so how far in should I turn the dial? manual does not say how far in you need to be.
Also in the kit, in the bag with the bleed blocks is a black metal thing with a square cut out and a hex shape in the end. What is this for? manual does not seem to say anything about it.

undoing the nut.
and mid way so that the lever does not bottom out as you have just read and said."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The Black thing is a 'crows foot socket' and so you can undo the hose, and more importantly use a torque wrench when doing it up again (yeah right - accompanied by the Tamworth three doing a flypast!).
The SRAM official video on youtube is very useful.

Checked the video from srams tech channel but the bleed method in the video differs a bit from the manual that came with the kit. The video doesn't mention using the bleed blocks and in the video the guy bleeds the caliper, then the hose and then the lever. The Manual does the hose first, then the caliper and then the lever.0

either but manual first. and yes the pistons need to be fully home. vid will have been done before the blocks were introduced."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
