Afternoon all. Just wondered what I could use as a bung on the underside of the steerer tube? Something plastic and inexpensive maybe :?

I removed a fair bit of Cannock Chase from inside the Chucker's steerer the other day. TIA

    'Put a cork in it'!

Maybe a bar end cap will fit, some are quite large.

  • a cork or a bar end cap might work, or you could try putting a small amount of good quality duct tape over the hole.

There are some headset adjusters such as Azonic Headlock II, THE Stem Lock, USE Safe-T Headlock that fit right through the steerer blocking the bottom off

You might find a Crudbung if you look hard enough though they were only made 10+ yrs ago.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

but remember to remove it often as crud and water will enter the steerer from any direction.
