SRAM X9 front mech options

I'm looking to buy a SRAM X9 front mech (for my 3x9), as there are plenty on eBay. However, there are so many options - top or bottom pull, high or low clamp, 31.9mm or 34.9mm.
So I guess the size is the clamp size, and I can measure my frame.
It's the high or low clamp and top or bottom pull that I'm confused with. Does it make any difference? Is any combination better? I've got a new cable to fit anyway, so difference in cable length doesn't matter.
This is my Boardman's current X7 front mech. I'm guessing it is a low clamp, bottom pull. Is that correct?

Top pull, the clue's in where the cable pulls from, bottom swing (low clamp).
Crucial in your case, as it doesn't look like a top swing would fit.
Although I have only ever used Shimano, so terms might be different.I don't do smileys.

It looks like it's a top pull, 34.9 low clamp.0

Size you will need to measure.

It takes a 31.6 seatpost so bound to be 34.9.0

Why would you want to change it? Doubt you'll notice any difference.I don't do smileys.

If the X7 works, keep it. If you decide to upgrade, switch to Shimano but you still aren't likely to notice a difference tbh. All quality front mechs do the job, they just get lighter and sometimes better longevity as you spend more.Uncompromising extremist0

I had. That was from just one night out in the shed. The roof leaks really badly and is very damp. That's the next job is to refoot it. But it needs new timber too, not just felt.0 -
spend the money on the storage rather than the bike."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
