Hi,
Does anyone know what is happening with the Gully as I was up there last night and Fir trees had been placed across the entrance to block it. I didn't see any closed for maintenance notices, however I had noticed recently that the track had started to collapse just after the steep stone pitching. It's a shame if it's closed just as spring is approaching and things are starting to dry out a little.
Cheers.

Perhaps thats the reason, so it CAN dry out.

Wasn't aware it had been closed but will check with the FC guys. It does need a chance to dry out, the repair work we did last year has held and the trail surface down most of it is firm under the mud that has washed down, however as you mentionned there are a couple of bits that still need additional repairs.

I doubt the closure is in anyway permenant. When I find out what's going on I'll post up here.

As was thinking of going this Sunday, any ideas if the Gully is fully open?

From what I know it's not open, that's not stopping people riding it though.

To be honest it's best left alone either way, getting up the big berms is a little risky given the current conditions.

Apparently it's not officially closed, Martin's going to take his bike up tomorrow and have a look (at least that's his excuse for riding during work time).

Cheers StumpyJon. I didn't think it looked that official.

P.s. I keep bumping into you around the new singletrack bit you built and I keep promising to come and help again. I'm still hoping to make some of the dig days in spring.

We've got to the bottom of it now, apparenty someone's been cutting materials for use on the jumps at Aintree, it's his left over's.

MTBmaniac - I'll hold you to that, next dig is Sunday, one after that will be 10th April, may be another one in between.
