Best thing I've seen on BBC in years. Educational, funny and leaving you wanting more. I'd never heard of Guy Martin before and on further reading a very interesting bloke, I hope he gets more shows from this series as it makes a change having a genuine person with real character on TV rather than someone who just wants to be famous.0

Guy Martin has me reaching for the remote faster than when I hear the opening bars of 'Eastenders'0

I enjoyed it as well. None of that, "In the last ten minutes X as done this and in the next ten X will do the other," malarkey. Too difficult to make a kettle, pahNeil

Missed it sadly. Will check and see if it's repeated (it's the beeb, so I'm sure it will be, several times).
I've met him a couple of times now, seems like a top bloke. Not only a massively talented Motorcyclist, but also a very good Downhiller and avid tea drinker = legend.0 -

He is a massively talented motorcyclist. Watch any of his TT laps (or any road races) on youtube as proof.0

Got it series linked on the PVR as I was allowed out to play last night.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I loved it when the cast iron guy was telling Guy that it was hot and he needed some protective gear.... I'm sure Guy was remembering this years TT and thinking that this was proper hot :shock:0

He is quality... Fire Lisa Tarbuck though and get him doing the voiceovers too. Instead of "Guy really likes tea, so, in this episode Guy will be getting some tea and really liking it" we can have "Dunno what I'll be doin later laaaaaaaak, by eck, I could do with a brew, cheers boss, that's mega that, proper tea that, let's go and get some more off this old feller".
Maybe later in the series he can get in a narrowboat race and come in second.Uncompromising extremist0 -

Guy is a bit of a motorbike legend, and the show was great, first decent bit of TV I've seen in ages. Looking forward to the following episodes.
I'm pretty sure I've seen the boat knocking about the canals round here too, when I've indulged in a spot of road cycling. Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
pretty good was that, guy's also been into his MTB's for while ,sure he's did stuff with hope before. recently had his bike nicked though.....

Aye, he's raced the Mega and did the fort william endurance DH last year (came 37th) and stuff like that. Also rides a Cotic Soul, like all the best people
Always getting bikes nicked though.Uncompromising extremist0 -
Bumped into Guy a few times at various road races and I can confirm that he is as mad as a box of frogs. Your only getting the toned down version on the telly in real life he is 10 times madder and talks at about a million words a minute.
Top fella I like a man who can carry off bugger grips, ride like a god and sink a pint of beer in about 5 seconds.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
repeat on BBC1 in 15 mins 6:30"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sorry to drag up a slightly old thread.
Guy Martin, living legend!!!
I've had the pleasure of meetin Guy at a motorcyle race club annual event over in Derby.
He is without doubt one of the most genuine down to earth people about. Had a proper good 20-30 minutes chat with him about all sorts (including downhill racing, lawnmower racing and obvioulsy motorbikes)
His accent and coloquialisms are funny as hell, along with his 200mph talking.
Quality program and will be tuned in to see him lose his teeth.

Turns out he is on The Gadget Show next week as well, testing out 'All Terrain' Mountain Bikes!0

What a legend
I loved watching the TT... he gets a brew after every race while he's still sat on the bike0 -

When walking round the Paddock after the races, you can buy Official Guy Martin Mugs. I may have one somewhere.
The pic below was taken by me about 5 mins before the bike ended up in the hyawj fireball above. He was absolutely FLYING too!
