On my Wilier I have campag Centaur carbon stuff. its not a patch on my previous ultegra fro smoothness Its been back to the shop many times for a tune up but he said thats as good as it gets and im not over happy but will continue with it for a while. Ive just bought some cosmic carbone wheels and they are coming with a campag record casette. Its the same gear size but will it make any difference in any other dept? Like smoothness on the change etc? I cant think it would but why is it much more expensive for that one whats the benefit? anything im likely to notice? anythign better than what i currently have would be an improvement? any thought welcome. Also I know the history of my centaur as its been with me since new i dont know the miles on the record im told 2000 miles though???? cheers

Make sure its a 10 speed cassette, 11 speed wont work. Record is much lighter thats the main difference but possibly wears out faster so make sure its not worn out. Centaur cassettes and chainrings were dumbed down when 11 speed was introduced so the record may work better depending on how worn it is.Pegoretti

Campagnolo Centaur feels a bit more agricultural than Shimano to me, it is clunkier and not so 'slick' Having said that it works faultlessly when set up and the 10 speed 2009/10 stuff is great value and looks good. I don't like the 2011 stuff it looks cheap. Centaur is steadily working its way down the Campag range, due to Athena, Super record etcColnago C60 SRAM eTap, Colnago C40, Milani 107E, BMC Pro Machine, Trek Madone, Viner Gladius,
