Can anybody shed some light on this?
I have recently replaced my rear sprocket and chain as they had become worn and the gears were slipping. for a short while it was ok but now has started to skip again(occasionally) on the 2 outermost sprockets (7th+8th), the derailleur is shifting between the gears fine and selects without a problem. I have also noticed a sound that i can only describe as 'crunchy' whilst on the smallest sprocket. Its a Shimano setup.
Any ideas anyone?

check the jockey wheels.
check the chain rings.
is it the chain skipping or the cassette/body."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
