I'm planning another trip up to Scotland for the end of this month. 7 stanes specifically. Really fancy trying out some of the downhill routes. Thinking Ae or Innerleithin. I dont own a DH specific bike so i'd be putting my 5 through its paces.

Would it be too much of a battering for it?

Thanks in advance for responses

of course it wouldn't, people have gone down on XC hardtails and 'come out the other side'. Your 5 would easily take it, really... it's a trail/AM rig which can really do anything.

    Don't forget Fort William
  • Encouraging to hear. It is the AM spec anyway, Fox 36 forks as well as Hope V2 brakes so quietly confident.

V2s are monsters, and 36s are pretty beefy too. You'll have no problems what-so-ever

Forgot to say that some of the best downhill, although not gnarley like fort bill world cup, is From the top to bottom at Golspie (highland wildcat). about 7km of going down. Brillant on the 5. And no one is usually there!
