Not been on here for quite some time - hello to anyone that knows me!

After circumnavigating Oz 3 years ago, and as I am retiring in 2 weeks time, I keep thinking about the joys and challenges of cycling and camping in the Outback, and whether I might go back.

Last time as part of the circuit I had thought to ride the Gibb River Road from Kunnunura to Derby but chickened out and took the tarmac route in the end. However I did quite a bit of off-road riding too and loved the remoteness and closeness to nature. The Australian birds and animals blew me away. Now I am thinking about flying to Cairns and riding the Savannah Way to Darwin via Burketown and Borroloola. There isn't much info about this route, especially for a cyclist, and I wondered if anyone on here had any contacts that might be useful to me.

I could also ask if anyone on here is up to join this 3 month or so tour?? You could dog out for crocs whilst I push through the river crossings....
