Best Ride Last Night

hello all

rode home last night, weather was pretty good with no wind, i got onto the main road outside my work, and a lycra clad roadie shot past me, so i though "i' have you"...caught up to him at the lights an stayed with him for about 4 miles doing a steady 18 - 20mph.

Bearing in mind im riding a 14" framed mountain bike, i thought i did pretty well

i got home an felt like keeling over but was on a real high, i think that was my best ever commute...

anyone else had any?

    My best commute was during the summer holidays last year. Lovely, almost empty road in to work, with the sun shining. A rare Zen experience :)

    Taking the long route via the beach on a sunny day is always good. It does, however, require slower riding, rather than faster! 8)

    Last summer I got a 25-35mph tailwind all the way home. Quickest ever :D

    Probably a couple of seasons ago - hot day, carbon bike, high tail wind and drafting a Range Rover down a dual carraigeway.....

    Had a lovely tan that year too....
