Something is really slowing down browsing on the site

Browsing with Chrome, and I'm finding BR is really slow to browse. Not in terms of page loading, but scrolling up and down the page and typing new posts.
Okay I'm using a netbook which isn't the speediest of things, but generally I can browse most websites without much sluggishness. Even when they're crammed with Flash.
I tried blocking the Flash stuff on the page, but it still seems to be slow so must be something else.
If I open another tab and browse other sites, including other forums, that tab is fine, but the BR tab is still slow.
Has anyone else noticed this?
