Has anyone used this lacing type? Is it better than the normal velcro?

I have the Boa on my s-works shoes.

I think it is great. The shoe is very light, comfy (for me) and very adjustable even from the saddle. If I have not quite got the fitting right when getting ready, it is a quick lean down on the road to tweak the tightness. With velcro, you have to pull off and redo with trial and error.

as above, it's excellent, fast/easy to adjust, also i find it much easier to get shoe covers on/off, i even manage to adjust them through the cover!

you can get replacement kits to renew dials/cords if they get damaged/worn, easy to fit

i use mine every day, after about 9 months i had to replace the dials as the ratchets were slipping a bit, but i've not had a cord break or even look worn

eventually the fixed part of the ratchet is going to wear enough to slip, but over time velcro-based straps wear/tear too, so probably similar life overall

cycle surgery is selling off the previous model s-works for a big discount...

...i just bought an extra pair, the price was too good to miss and to be honest i think they look much nicer than the current model
