Superstar pads

I've bought some superstar pads for my Formula the Ones and when fitting them today I discovered that the actual pad surface is smaller on the superstar pads compared to the ones that came with my brakes.

The spring is the same size meaning that there is a gap between the pad and the spring, is this normal?

they have excellent customer service, just email or ask for a replacement set if your unsure

I emailed them yesterday for advice, just thought I'd see whether it was just me being new to new brake pads.
