Got the above on the front of my commie. Whilst changing the tyres yesterday I noticed that the when off the bike, the wheel doesn't seem to spin as smoothly as I would of thought on the hub. Holding the centre with my fingers and spinning the wheel, seemed like there is resistance and felt a bit grindy. Also, the nut (with 2 flats) on the opposite side to the disc was a tad loose, so i nipped it up.
Does this sound normal, or not normal? Can they be stripped and regreased easily?
TIA.

sounds like service time."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Are they easily done, not too bad with the spanners, or is it a shop only job?0

if they're cup and cone jobbies, then yes, very easy to service0

It's pretty easy to do, and also you'll want to know how to do it in future because you need to look after cup and cone hubs. With seperate bearings like in a Hope Pro 2 or similiar, it doesn't matter because if they seize, you just knock 'em out but with Shimano, if you let the bearing get in a bad state it'll damage the hub.Uncompromising extremist0
