This is my training and racing bike for this year. It's my first season, so I didn't want to go too flash or get something I couldn't afford to replace if/as/when it gets trashed!!!

Things that are to be changed are: Seatpost to 27.2mm 3T Dorico Team, 120mm 3T stem instead of 110mm, pedals to Time RXS and finally wheels to something deep carbon when I race.

    Wow that's nice.

Did you do the detailing right down to the black and white zip ties on the computer, or are they just odd?

Luck of the draw as to the only two cable ties I had that would do the job!

Took it out for a 50 mile ride today. I'm not sure who claims these are twitchy while descending, after 4000ft up and then 4000ft down again I think it's c0ck on.

  • Great choice. I've a 2010 R3, with Force and DA7850CL wheels. 6.9kg and flies up the hills. Winnats and Holme Moss will be no problemo. You'll really enjoy the stiff frame to get the power down and fast handling on the descents. Thin stays means it's all day comfy too.

My only problem has been a cracked seatclamp (OE is feeble 12g effort). I keep a spare one in the bag of bits just in case.

Also worth checking out is the owners forum on cervelo.com for ideas and tips.

    Enjoy your season!

Thanks for the comments so far!

First session on a Criterium circuit tonight, it felt really good to ride. Superb out of the saddle, far better than my old Madone.

If the R3 feels that good, what do the S series bikes feel like?!
