Single, dual, triple chain ring?

Since I don't live where it's hilly & never used my smallest ring, what should I go for on the rebuild? I stay mostly in the top third of the 11-32 cassette with the 32T & the middle with the 44T. Mix of road, bike path & traffic.

I dont really think there is a road in the world that requires a 32t cassette? All you need is a good standard set up, 53/39 double front chainstay, and a 12-25cassette on the back.
  • What would be advantage/disadvantage of compact 50/34 if any?

  • Work out the ratio of your "favorite" gears then work out what you're going to get by changing your chainset and cassette. Go for the combination that gives you the most useable gears.
