Hi all.
Looking to upgrade my wheel set. My Roubaix came with Mavic CXP-22 S which seem pretty heavy and uninspiring against the Ritchey DS Pros that came on my Boardman Road Team, so I've swapped them over together with the tyres (Conti GP 700x24 on the Ritcheys) on the basis that I'll be using the Boardman over winter. Just got back from a 30 miler and, man, it was hard work copmpared with the Roubaix the other weekend! I always found tghe Boardman pretty quick so I suspect it's partly down to the increased rolling mass of the lower spec wheels?
Merlin seem to have a cracking deal on a pair on 2011 Mavic Ksyrium Equipes which C+ magazine rated highly this month. Question is, would the Ksyrium's be a fitting upgrade to the Roubaix, i.e. better than the Ritchey DS Pro's I'm now running? :?

I haven't tried the wheels you mentioned but have you considered the Shimano RS80's? Essentially dura ace wheel but with a different hub. Considered by many as best value wheel set at this price point..

Are they the carbon clinchers? They seem a bit more expensive than the Ksyriums. As ever I'm on a strict budget. Merlin are doing the RS80 carbons for £350 compared with £220 for the Ksyriums so I'm probably restricted to the cheaper of the two...but there's little point if they're no better than the wheels I've already got
Anyone have experience of the Ksyrium Equipe vs Ritchey DS Pro's? Hoping to buy over the weekend so any replies gratefully received!!Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0
