whats the best mtb for 500 to 600 in 2011

hi i have bt10 just for work but now want to up grade and start to go the lakes so want the best bike i can find for 500 or 600 can any one help.

    +1 . It's the bike I settled for (Boardman HT Comp). When reviews say it's excellent value at the original £700 it's even harder to knock at £560! Used it twice a week since the start of the year in ridiculous mud and it's not put a foot wrong. It's worth noting that the forks photographed on the Halfords website show Toras which is wrong. It comes with air Recons (as the spec confirms).

    Also look at the Cube Analog Disc 2011. Well specced and looks the dogs.
