Thanks in advance for any help.

your chainset will be fine, your shifter might not be compatible sram shift with a ratio of 1:1, that is you move the shifter 10mm the derailler will move 10mm shimano shit a different ratio.

Sram front works with Shimano shifters. It's just the rears that need to be the same.

is it not the other way round, that sram shifters work with shimano front mechs?

Errrr what's the difference? If the pull is the same they'll be interchangeable.
Either front shifter works with the other mech.

    No!

Sram front shifters work with Shimano front mechs and Sram front mechs work with Shimano front shifters.

CD's right, front mechs are interchangeable, rear's are not.

Except XX front mechs, which are different (allegedly!).

Cannondale Rize come with SRAM shifters (X5) and rear mech (X9) and Shimano (Deore) front mech as standard.

Agree with above, front you can mix and match at will, rear you can't (you can some, not others!)

The only SRAM rear mechs that are 2:1 are the 'named' ones: Rocket and Attack, the 'numbered' ones are all 1:1 and incompatible with Shimano shifters.
