  • if the saddle continues to be a problem get another that suits you better.
    as for tools etc,
tyre levers, a spare tube, some people prefer to take 2 depending on the distance of the ride,
    a pump,
and some food. or money for food.

should be set and ready to go.

  • thanks for that. Trouble here is if you go off main a7 inland you need to be a montain goat. You wouldnt believe the hills some of the spainish guys can climb. Plus point it will make me a stronger rider in time or finish me off lol

Bike looks great, I found small adjustments to the saddle can make a big difference to comfort. Found this bike fit video had some useful tips for intial setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAl_5e7bIHk

Get your saddle perfectly level or just a cock hair sloping down, with it raised it is no wonder it is giving you pain.

Cant wait to be fit enough for longer rides ambition to ride to ronda and back hellish climb. Maybe join a local club work 3 weeks on and off rotation hope it doesnt stop my improvment to much.

  • welcome another expat here but im in Mallorca, glorious weather today but rain sunday! I know what you mean about the climbing but ive only been cycling since august and now i can climb the mountains here and have entered a sportive for april 10th here with 6000ft of climbing and 96 miles long but with practise you get there. i did the mountains last weekend 81 miles and 5980ft of climbing love it but your legs get used to it after a while. Im still just under 18 stone so nobody was more suprised than me! Nice bike got a bargain there
  • Is the cycling in marbella good? I was out there last october, but didn't really venture away from the poolside. I'm heading out again at the end of april (family have apartments there) I was thinking of bringing my bike along this time. I'd be staying right on the golden mile - is it easy to get out into the country from there?

TT: PX Exocet Sold because it was like a sail in the wind (sh*t)
  • Yes hope my legs get used to it , done another 15 miles tonight on one climb guy came past me like i was stationary. Think ive got the bike set up correctly now knee cap and plumb line business and all. The cycling round here is great but im still nervous about a7 dual carrigeway down coast, thing is have to use it to get anywhere. Been cycling road side of white line so cars have to move to outside lane ,most just skim past you, some locals go other side of white line next to armco barrier not me debri on road and not much space white line is ribbed too. Have problem not having smooth peddling action seems i have void in stroke and it goes easy so i go higher gear. thanks all

I've done the Ronda route. Absolutely flew up it, just stopping for a drink at the cafe halfway up. Stunning views and smooth roads.

    I was on a Honda Hornet ;)
  • Last 2 days rides been good, 20 miles yesterday with new computer on board lbs fitted averaged 16.9 mph. Today 22 miles more hilly terrain average 14.5 mph. Sorted saddle out and ridding position stem could possibly be a bit shorter but i will live with it no discomfort. Not bad as i not been on bike for 20yrs although road in teens and twentys. Found some back roads today inmijas absolutly stunning senery mountains.

  • Here in Mallorca we have the bumpy white strip next to the edge too funny inst it shakes you to pieces when you cross it haha
  • Yes those bumps on the white lines shake you all over 2 loose spokes on todays ride. Stem issue needs sorting 120mm stem on think i might go to 100mm. reaching to far and when sighting hub its infront of bars dont want to alter seat forward.
