    i live in Suffolk and i am wandering the same thing. There are footpaths around my area that i join together to make some routes but they all involve climbing over gates which is not fun.
    if you live anywhere near Hadley you can go to Groton wood which is in Lindsey. It is not worth driving to but if you are in riding distance it is worth having a go at it.

    i have also tried to make some home-made trails and jumps. It is hard work but once you have finished making them it is very rewarding.

    Try bridle ways rather that footpaths, fewer stiles and gates.
