but apart from In Case of Emergency what does I.C.E mean in relation to mountain bikes.
I have tried to Goggle to find out but it just brings up sites concerning that awful slippery stuff.

    In medical terms, it's

    Rest (sometimes omitted)
    Ice
    Compression
    Elevevation

edit: oops. I think that's another post reading failure courtesy of myself!

In which case I don't know, unless the kids are down with large stereos on their bikes these days.

ICE is used in first aid for Ice, Compression, Elevation. A good way to help an injury if you've had an off, the compression and elevation are even more iportant if you're losing blood. that's the only thing i think i can ever remember it standing for...

as you can see it all depends what the context is.

Not only relating to mountain biking but an advisable entry to have in your contacts list on your mobile regardless of the pursuits you follow, also add the international dialing code too so you the entry would look something like this:

    ICE Dad
    +4407980325404

You might be able to have the number in your phonebook again but without the international dialing code. ie

    Dad
    079580325404
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Why would you do that? In case you've found yourself unconscious, but then realise you've forgot to get some Ameritalian gangsters to take out your old man?

I read that, didn't get it, clicked away, then started giggling in a manner that I'm not entirely proud of...

I really hope that's not your dads real number. If not, he's about to get alot of random calls to help some nigerians.

An you don't need the 0 in front of the 7 if you're dialing internationally, the +44 acts as the 0.

I actually passed a guy the other day on a tow path who was quite old, riding a typical grandpa city bike, with a stereo strapped to the front with 2 speakers on a rack on the back. He was playing Falco as well. Quite the WTF moment.
