Just posted this in buying advise opps sorry.
Just bought some shimano 6600 wheels for my winter hack, but just realized they'll only accept shimano 10speed Grrr. Will my Freehub fit off my old wheels or can I buy a replacement freehub from anywhere that'll fit that'll accept 9 speed that'll go on to the shimano wheels?

I have an Ultegra 6600 hub on my rear wheel and it has a 9 speed cassette on it. But this is not the whole wheel set, just the hub from the groupset, which defo takes 9 or 10 speed.I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks0

Sorry, but if you have the aluminium 6600 hub, it's 10sp only

See Sheldon's explanation - where DA got the alu freehubs between 2004 & 2007, also applies to the alu 6600 freehub

I have the ultegra 6600 freehub too, and I can confirm that the splines are too high to fit 8-9 speed sprockets. I think you can replace the freehub with the RS10 9-speed body (on this page--but not in stock--for 31.99GBP http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1161), although I am not 100% sure on that.
Alternatively, you could just get the 6700 10-speed cassette (around 45GBP http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-ultegra-6700-10-speed-cassette-oem/). A bit more money, but a bit easier to fit too!
