My friend has been tasked with orginising a route for a charity C2C route from Workington to south shields but it's proving to be a bit of a struggle. The issue is the first day which is from Workington to Troutbect nr Penrith. This is a 4 day ride with quite inexperienced cyclists so he is looking to avoid busy main roads and whinlatter pass! Is this possible? If anyone has an uploaded route they could share that would be great

Thanks

Paul

Why would you want to avoid Whinlatter? Its nothing to worry about if you're coming from the west.

How is he going to avoid all the hills between Penrith and Consett?
    More problems but still living....

    I agree.

I'm not doing it with them but i think they are v inexperienced. I don't think a lot of them know what they are in for as the route is going over alston too. they have split it into a 4 day day event so are covering about 35 miles per day. Looking at the route I would use it looks v lumpy on the way to consett
