    Using Cardio Trainer, no complains.
Offers allot in the free version, not sure about paid version

    Endomondo
    B. iCycle

Cardio Trainer is the main app I use to track my rides, but Endomondo has a really useful website supporting it and B. iCycle has the best UI.

I use all 3 apps and find them similar on performance.

+1 and having paid for the Pro version £6 or so I'm more than happy
Carrera Fury for the muddy stuff
Boardman Road Team for the black stuff
    PDQ for the TT stuff

Been using my tracks. Was pre-installed and works great, uploads to your google account to. May try the others if i get bored, but havnt felt the need yet as it does all i want well :D
  • Well I've been using Runkeeper since last September on my commute and it is excellent. Plus if you're prepared to cough up $5 a month (a few quid only) you can get it to do real time tracking on the web, so my wife knows when I'm getting home.
I did use MapMyRide but to be honest the adverts got too annoying and the website too slow, too many popups. Runkeeper is very fast however.
  • Thanks for the replies. I've downloaded cardio trainer and so far i'm very impressed. Just a quick question to cardio trainer experts, can you run a sat nav app whilst cardio tracks?
  • What do you exactly want the app to do? I have been looking for the perfect solution for a while now, and there doesn't seem to be one single app that can do all.

    My requirements are:

Load routes that have been created online.
    Maps must show cycle routes
Navigation app needs to have off-line maps
Ability to record route and upload stats for on-line analysis

I used GPSies to do my routing, this displays OpenCycleMaps. The saved gpx file is then copied to my phone. For mapping i use Oruxmaps, which allows off-line saving of maps and you can select the OpenCycleMaps. Open the gpx file and you can also record your stats, which are then uploaded to MapMyTracks.com for analysis. All sounds a bit of a faf but it works well. The next version of Oruxmaps will be able to connect to GPSies and load your routes straight from there.

I've used iMapMyRide which works well but doesn't show cycles routes, although they are working on it, but it relies on Google Maps and having a signal to load them, which i've found problematic out in the sticks.
  • Ive been using Endomondo for a couple of days and I reckon it's brilliant. Doesnt use much of my data, battery isnt bad, and the live tracking thing meant that the missus knows where i am, therefore doesnt worry so much. All in all very happy.

Has anyone bought the Pro version? Is it worth it?

I'm currently using cardiotrainer to track both my rides to work and longer rides on the weekend. For weekend rides it's great but for work I really need it to automatically stop the timer once I get in but it doesn't do this despite claiming to have an autopause feature. I always forget to stop the timer so my journeys show up as 5 hours instead of 30 minutes. Anyone had any luck with this feature or know of an alternative that will do what I want? I'm sure it used to work how I wanted but for some reason changed. I've also tried mytracks which has the same problem.

I have just downloaded cardio trainer and used it the last couple of days on my commute. It seems to work well.

What extra do you get if you buy the full version?

I am tempted to get the polar Bluetooth HR strap so I can record HR also...

I was tempted by the Bluetooth heartrate monitor until I saw the price! 70 quid.

Yeah they are quite pricey but I think you can find them cheaper on ebay. I already have a polar monitor but not with the right type of strap...
