Underwear

With reagrds to the Piles observation, I can honestly say that I have had piles for years and wearing less than 5mm of cotton between skin and pad would not make the slightest difference to the amount of pain that is felt if they pop out! and certainly would not make them go away. The best way to clear piles up is by using a cream and this bad boy:
Squirming is permitted gents!.
and you are welcome

Springtide... it's a completely different argument. You've chosen to wear padded, cycling specific and (hopefully) seam free underwear in addition to your padded shorts because you want the extra padding. That is perfectly acceptable, if you need the additional padding.
The OP was asking about wearing normal underwear under cycling shorts which is wrong and should not be considered under any circumstances.0 -
When is it a good time to announce "I'm wearing my wife's knickers*"? Are they ok in this context?
*Mitchell & Webb. Honest guv.
Edit. It wasn't was it? Armstrong & Miller.0 -
I've never heard of choice of underwear affecting the appearance or otherwise of piles! How fascinating.
I developed piles which thankfully never ventured outside to interfere with my riding.(antidepressants -> chronic constipation despite eating more fibre than a horse) They would however bleed in spectacular fashion on the rare occasions my bowels grudgingly moved.
Had the things removed at the GP's surgery using what felt like a gallon of K-Y jelly, a track pump, and a soldering iron (can't be certain, I wasn't watching)

- Sticky underwear0 -
i thought it would be weird before i did it but i wouldnt go back. DO NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR.
The shorts are designed to be seem free, anti-bacterial and wick away sweat. By wearing underwear you are not feeling any of these benefits.
underwear causes unwanted friction (Ouch!!) and can bunch up. bunches begin to get very uncomfortable after a while.
DONT DO IT0 -
Defo NO
Major chaffing issue if you do!
Shorts are designed to be fully green beret!!..................commando!!

If any here suffers piles, as I did, then cycling only aggravates the problem. I know its an embarassing topic, and one no one readily admits too. however if you are serious about dealing with this issue anmd require further information to make your hobby more comfortable, then check this site out. You won't be disappointed.
