1990s Specialized Bottom Bracket Question

Hello there,
I've got hold of an old 1990s Specialized RockHopper frame which I've been building up as a little renovation project.
Everything's been straightforward apart from the bottom bracket. I've not been able to find any concrete information on what sort of bottom bracket shell it has. English? Italian? Something different? It seems to be about 69mm, but I'd like to be sure before committing to parts.
Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

English and if you are measuring 69 then it will be 68mm. it will only be 68 or 73mm"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers!
Thought it was, but given the age, I thought it best to check it wasn't something esoteric.
Thanks again.0 -
Italian is only found on Italian (funnily enough!) road bikes. MTBs have always (with very few exceptions) been 68 or 73 and BS thread as above.0
