Had a peruse over their 2011 team roster.

Looks pretty special.

Anyone recon this is the year the big budget Dutchies finally live up to the hype?

As an aside, (perhaps in contrast to Rabo), I have a sneaky little feeling team lux won't be quite as dominant as Saxo have been.

Yeah, just had look on CQ, some good aquisitions this season. And Lars Boom is always one to watch.

BTW, I don't think Saxo will be as dominant as Saxo have been either.

    Rick

This could be my PTP year!

I think they could be spread a bit thin over the year, but I can see some sucesses coming, so long as the management can up their game.

Indeed. Some of the tactics coming from the car seem to have come straight from beginner setting on pro-cycling manager...

What...my PTP tips or the real team tactics?

Also, not falling off their bikes will be a good tactic this year

I meant real team tactics, but having met you, probably both!

It is a shame they are splashed the cash to get instant success with the Spanish and Danish blokes rather than trawl through their academy for talent. However, they will probably fail miserably like all the other stars who have come in (and left all their motivation with their old teams)

Rabo used to have an English language version of their site, then it went all Dutch, haven't found any replacement. Rick translates it for me and I keep his tyres pumped up in exchange.

    Have the same feeling.

  • Yes, Bauke Mollema and Steven Kruijswijk both did well in the Giro last year and it will be interesting to see how they progress this year. No idea about their plans for this year but i imagine they may be in the tour working for Gesink which would be a bit of a shame. If Gesink isnt that high up on GC then maybe one will be in the break on the alpe d'huez stage - been a while since the last dutch winner.

Michael Matthews had a very good tour down under and we will see if he can replicate some of that in europe this year - he came 5th in the algarve yesterday.
