Schleck: I like meat, lots of good protein
Interviewer: Once there was a great climber called Robert Millar, he was a vegetarian
Schleck: And now he's a lady

Oi, Schleck- how dare you insult Mr Millar.

Go and stand on that pier and prepare to be fish-slapped. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhJQp-q1Y1s

And then you can buy a couple of pairs of non-cycling trousers, from a supermarket if you must, and you can keep them in your gorgeous dacha for wearing when you're not cycling.

I must say that did cross my mind too.

Total lack of respect. Not even funny. Millar is a true champion compared to these lightweights.

For once FF, I agree with you!

To be fair I haven't watched the video as am at work, but insulting a former Tour and Giro KOTM winner based on their sexuality is pretty out of order in this day and age.

Told you the pair of 'em were dumber than a bag of spanners.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Video is total rubbish: not worth watching. (Should have watched before posting!)

inky: not relating to Millar's 'sexuality', thought he was straight anyway. Just talking general nonsense that vegetrian = girly (as far as I understoood it)

Don’t agree, definitely talking about his sexuality
  • Is he gay then? If so I wasnt aware. I doubt very much if Schleck was: it would be super low blow and frankly inexcusable.

I thought the most telling part (about the state of cycling now) was when Frank Schleck said, "We come here and relax, no one is looking for you here..." Andy yells out (in an almost worried tone), "Well, the UCI, they know it!"

Otherwise, the UCI and others might think the Schlecks have a place to hide from controls.

I think someone's confusing the words Sexuality and Gender.

I thought it was a bit of an odd comment. Definitely un-called for. It didn't sound malicious IMO but still... maybe a joke in (really) bad taste. Otherwise they seem like pretty normal guys. Quite chilled out.

    Meh.

After he retired, there were allegations from a red-topped tabloid that RM was transexual and contemplating a sex change operation. There has never been one iota of evidence to show that there was any truth in this.

(Not that I would have any objection to transexual, bisexual, gay cyclists BTW.)

Have just watched the video and have to say that what he said is pretty out of order. He is clearly having a joke at RM's expense.

It's a pretty terrible video all told, especially the 70s porn music at the start.

Agreed, they're like some spooky set of twins from a horror movie in grown up bodies.

It's not exactly MTV Cribs is it.
  • I have always thought they were a pair of tools.

Insulting former champions to be controversial does not make them interesting...
