Just a comment, fell off today, managed to take it on the rear an' elbow, no real damage to me or the bike except for a nasty lookig, albeit superficial graze about 6"x 4" just below the hip, showered when I got home and rubbed some antiseptic cream in, all good, however whilst shopping (Valentines day !) picked up some savalon spray on plaster, seemed like a good idea, had a read did the job, and said "you may experience a slight tingle when applying product...."
Luckily , the kids were out... 'cos when I sprayed it on I let loose with some choice expletives, it stung like ****, so the moral of the story is, keep away from the edge of the road, don't run in to the muddy verge fall, off and then apply spray on plaster unless pain is your friend!

I would just use a Melolin dressing, this helps get the gunk out of the wound, will help it heal faster as well.0

Also just a tip, if anyone does experience a fair bit of bleeding from a crash, there is a spray from boots called "Stop Bleeding Spray" (most original name  ). I bought some over the winter holidays, and it does exactly what it says on the tin, and very fast. I didn't feel anything from it except for a bit of a slight cold feeling on the wound, but that soon passed.
Now I don't ride without it.0 -
