  • Wheels and tyres will add quite a bit.

I bet the minions are wired, they weigh a tonne!

But yeah, 30lb is quite heavy!

Chainset, bars, seatpost? May all sneak a bit in if they're own brand/ non series
Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.

wheels, alex rims tend to be pretty heavy, from my experience with them, also probably the cranks and tyres.

So lets say we drop a generous 2lbs off for wheels and tyres, gets you to 28lbs, isn't that still a little on the heavy side for a grand aluminium bike?

It may well be that the frame is just a little over-engineered?
Though that is a good spec for the money...

30lbs is heavy, my new bike is a similar hard riding HT with deore kit and recon air forks and that comes in at 26.5lbs and im sure i could get it down a chunk with different tires, wheels and gears.
