    Nice choice of bike-enjoy
  • Congrats on getting a new bike man! Lovely choice as well!

Shame on the weather, good old UK for ya there!

I was into cycling a little bit when I was your age, but quickly gave it up because of a few reason. Regret not sticking with it. Finally started riding when I was 20 seriously, and best decision of my life!

    Enjoy many years man!

Go easy on your son! I have "fond" memories of 20 mile + rides with my dad at the age of 12, 13 and upwards which often consisted of him charging off without me. I could barely keep up and he used to keep shouting "tuck in behind me...!" etc etc but I couldn't keep up the pace! Now I'm 38 though and he's 60 odd and I leave him eating dust... Bwah, ha, ha!

  • Had my first ride today and it was excellent :D. We did 12.3 miles and I averaged a speed of 11mph. I wanted to carry on but my dad didn't let me because it was getting dark and I don't have any lights. Next time my dad said we'll go for 15 miles next time maybe even a hill...

    Great ride dad thx

Don't forget to tell them it's not just an Allez.........it's an Allez Sport!!!!!!

It won't be long before he is telling me to just 'tuck in' I can tell you! He only managed 11mph average because we stopped for him to eat all my elevensies bars and drink all my Gatorade!!!!!! Drinking and eating on the move comes in lesson 2......

I can't believe I showed him a picture of Mow Cop (which I climbed earlier in the day before he had finished school) and he wants to give it a crack! (stick 'mow cop killer mile' into Google and select images.......)

    PP
  • That is one crazy looking hill!

HAllez, you've certainly got a great positive attitude towards riding. Let us know when you've conkered Mow Cop.

    :)
