Late night help..........chainring bolts

Guys help me out, has a few jobs to do tonight and i'm on my last one but have run into a spot of bother. I bought a bash ring that came with long chainrings bolts. Trouble is when I have removed the existing chainring bolts it seems the new bolts are slightly smaller in diameter than the old ones and therefore dont fit the 'nut' end of the existing bolts. Only the 'bolt' end was provided with the chainring. Any ideas?

should fit as the thread are standard.
might need a thread clean on one part."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

well I thought they would be standard but I can actualy push the new bolts all the way into the nut without threading it.0

Did you buy it new? I've bought things 2nd hand before that have just had random "that'll do" bolts thrown in... cue slight confusion and much anger.0

Ok, all sorted. Took the original bolts, nuts and new bolts into LBS today and found it was infact the original ones that were non standard. The came on the Stylo chainrings from brand new. Got me some new ones from LBS and bobs your uncle0
