Manufacturers websites grrrr...

In the course of working on our site I come across some dreadful manufacturers' sites for trying to just simply get information out. Wondering what the worst ones are ?

I reckon Sidisport is well up there in contention.
Although Sidi America is dead easy to use.

On the Sidisport site they call the shoes their 'collection' like a fashion chain. Is the look more important to top cyclists than the shoe - surely not ? I guess they've paid a lot and think its very pretty though. Probably the same marketing folk that did that weird advert with Contador. Although lots of people remember it - perhaps that was the point.

I haven't posted for a while as have been trying to work out if Shimano follow a system for naming their products. I went click crazy and had to go for a break

Anything that's presented almost entirely in Flash. Which is most of them. And they're usually the same ones that have product lines divided into emotive groups (hope...ambition...dismay...murder...) which have precisely no connection at all with the way people think, which mean it's impossible to find anything. Luckily, I don't get that far, because I've already gone elsewhere because the site was in Flash.

Actually been posting on here since 2009 on and off and felt like a rant ! Manufacturers have big budgets and still mess it up. Not meant as a boast, comparison with our site or plug, so sorry if you've taken it as such.

If you'd like to give us some more detailed feedback - please PM me as this is not meant as a thread to discuss our site at all. Its just there in the signature as it would be silly not to have it.

Still curious about the Shimano naming system especially the road shoes.

The one I find annoying is the i-ride one. Some great kit but you have to search by the maker's name rather than anything as mundane as "clothing" and no nice easy category such as "Products". Fine if you know exactly what you want but sometimes I just want some gloves and want to look through a selection...just lilke shopping in fact.

I must admit, I'm a bit like balthazar in that if I get to a site that wants me to wait for 5 minutes whilst it downloads a load of fancy graphics and then wants me to sit through some intro video before getting to the site itself...I'm off.
