My feet just are not made for road shoes.....
Having seen threads on which store, I wonder which brands would suit so that can narrow down choice.
thanks

Sidi do a wide fit, called Mega.
For the arches, moulded footbeds are a revelation.
Try www.cadencesport.co.uk for the footbeds.0 -
Two separate feet characteristics:
- I'd thoroughly recommend the specialized footbeds for sorting out the high arches
- I've had Northwave and Specialized shoes with my wide feet.0 -
In my experience the Lake wide fit shoes are slighty higher volume fit than the Sidi Mega. You need to try them both.
I'm trying some of the Spec green insoles at the moment but won't really know until I've some hot, long lumpy rides.
I'm going to sell some vgc Lake CX170 in wide fitting 43. Let me know if you'e interested.0 -
I have a similar foot setup and have found Specialized and DHB shoes to be no problem.
I have also had footbeds fitted which make a big difference as well. It will keep the high arch supported and not cause your foot to go flat and be as wide.Tri Coaching

Read the barefoot runner book then go shoeless as much as you can (not on the bike of course) I've got HORRENDOUS problems with my feet (Mates call me monkey feet)ranging from lost nails, pes cavus, mortons nueromas, high arches and have had orthotics, injections, toe manipulator thingys (forgot name) and none of it worked. I read the book, tried it out and also bought a pair of vibram fivefingers and I've had a lot less issues with my feet, my arches are stronger and my toes are getting better although it's still very much STOP - HAMMERTIME!!!There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...

Where is the best place to get footbeds custom made?
Currently trying specialized greens as well but just feel odd....0 -
I'll put another vote forward for the Spesh BG footbeds.
On the shoe front, I've tried Sidi, Shimano and Specialized shoes and found them all narrow and it wasn't until I got some Northwave ones that I started to enjoy cycling again (my feet got suddenly wider following an op a few years back). I now have Northwave road and MTB shoes and some of their winter boots too.|> Save money on purchases from CycleStore, Wiggle, Merlin, Evans, Chain Reaction, Halfords and more - click here (or PM me with questions)0 -
