:D Hi, I'm a fashion student and for my last project i'm doing a collection based on cycling clothes and making them more stylish...no offence to anyone who likes the clothes already out there for cyclists. I've got a quiz that i really need people to answer. It's just some basic information gathering and I just need to know your opinions and thoughts. It's mainly aimed at women (since there's already quite a lot of menswear for cycling) but the guys are more then welcome to put there input in too.

1)Are you male or female?

2) What age group are you? 16-20 20-30, 30-40 40-50, 50+

3)Are you a serious cyclist or is it just for fun?

4)What profession are you?

5) What clothes brand do you mainly shop in?

6) What safety gear do you wear whilst cycling?

7)When cycling, what are your main concerns with the clothes you wear?

8) Do you cycle mainly during the day or at night too?

9) Have you ever had or been in a near accident?

10)Do you cycle in dresses/skirts at all?

11)Would you be interested in a range of clothes that subtly incorporated road safety as well as being stylish?

12) If there's anything else you'd like to add about cycling clothes or cycling in general, don't hesitate to add

Thank you for taking the time to answer this brief questionaire.

Think you need to adjust the age range question, for example I'm 20, so do I go in the 16- 20 age range of the 20-30?

It might be worth creating an online survey for this (I think there are free ones). Will be easier to collect the results, and enter them ;)

3)Are you a serious cyclist or is it just for fun? For commuting, and it's fun!

4)What profession are you? Research Scientist/Lecturer

    5) What clothes brand do you mainly shop in? Bench, Superdry, Animal.

    6) What safety gear do you wear whilst cycling? Helmet, gloves, flourescent rucksack cover, sometimes flourescent strips around ankles.

7)When cycling, what are your main concerns with the clothes you wear? Comfort (in terms of movement and temperature control).

Do you cycle mainly during the day or at night too? Mainly daytime but it's often dark on the commute home!

    9) Have you ever had or been in a near accident? Not really. Couple of sudden braking moments, but nothing I would class as nearly an accident.

10)Do you cycle in dresses/skirts at all? Nope.

11)Would you be interested in a range of clothes that subtly incorporated road safety as well as being stylish? Yes if I felt the safety aspects were going to be effective and worth the (likely) increased cost.

    12) If there's anything else you'd like to add about cycling clothes or cycling in general, don't hesitate to add. They are generally overpriced already, so not sure many cyclists would be interested in any further 'premium' clothing, I suspect there would be more interest in reasonably priced cycle clothing given that there are many non-clothing based road safety options.

  • Hi, I'm a fashion student and for my last project i'm doing a collection based on cycling clothes and making them more stylish...no offence to anyone who likes the clothes already out there for cyclists. I've got a quiz that i really need people to answer. It's just some basic information gathering and I just need to know your opinions and thoughts. It's mainly aimed at women (since there's already quite a lot of menswear for cycling) but the guys are more then welcome to put there input in too.

    Not necessarily. Is it black?

    12) If there's anything else you'd like to add about cycling clothes or cycling in general, don't hesitate to add

I wear everyday clothes for cycling, apart from off-road or riding on the track.

If I'm pootling around on the bike, I'll wear everyday clothes. If I'm cycling any distance, it's all about form and function, which means lycra, which is never stylish.
