iirc there are a few ladies on here that are local to the 7 stanes so perhaps you could confirm something for me.

There is some local MTBers going to Dalbeattie on Sunday. I was thinking of joining them but I see Dalbeattie is rather lacking in facilities, specifically toilets. Is that the case, are there no toilets on site.

A group of local guys are going on Sunday and I'd like to join but I don't want to be the "needs to stop at every service station because they wont be able to go later" person :?

No facilities atlll at the trailhead, I think nearest will be in Dalbeatie village (mile away) as I don't think there are any at the nearby walkers trailhead either.

Some good trails to ride though if you like techy stuff

There are plenty of facilities at the trailhead...as long as you classify a tree as facilities (which my wife does, so all is good)!
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

So if I need to go then I'll need to realise early enough to cycle the mile to the village

I'm really not outdoorsy enough for "wilderness" cycling :(

Dalbeattie is my favourite of the 7 Stanes - it's just superb. Go to a caff beforehand for breakfast and toilets. Just go - you won't regret it.

  • After your ride you should head to Kipford which is just a bit further along the road you turn off to get to the car park - they do go post ride food.... I know that doesn't help with the whole tree thing at the start of the ride though! I run MBK courses at various 7stanes sites too, so if you need any info etc check out www.bottlegreenbiking.co.uk

In your other post it sounded like you'd just been on one of their courses now you run the company
  • Sorry, my mate runs the company and I do get coaching from them, I thought they might have been of use to you.
