Guys,

Any thoughts – I am thinking of changing the wheels on my summer bike for the upcoming season. Currently have stock DT swiss R1900’s and was thinking of changing to RS80’s as I’ve heard so many good things about them (e.g. fast, stiff, light, etc...).

I guess my question is will I notice any difference?, am I wasting my money unnecessarily? or will this be a worthwhile upgrade?. The wheels will be running on either mich pro 3 race’s or ultremo R1’s and will be used for rides with mates, sportives and club runs.

Cheers :D:D

I've got some RS80's on my Boardman Team Carbon as an upgrade to the stock wheels. They are very nice wheels but I'm not sure I have really noticed a marked improvement. The biggest improvement I have seen is from losing a few pounds and improving my overall fitness.

They do look good though. 8)

Better wheels will ride nicer, and snapier look a bit nicer, but won't make you go much faster, getting out on the bike more will make you go faster, but if having new wheels makes you go out on the bike more, then the latter will come. Just go for it.. ps I have just got some RS80s, clad with R1s, look lovely
Just awaiting nicer weather to give them a whirl.
