Superstar XCR chain guide fitting

Right so received my XCR chain guide today, and went ahead and fitted it. Only problem is the chain ring is catching on the outer edge of the guide. Now there is some spacers provided with guide, I just need to know where about's I fit these.
I'm running a GXP bottom bracket on 68mm bottom bracket, so had a spacer each side between bottom bracket cup and frame. So the chain guide has replaced the spacers on the drive side, but then what? Where do the other spacers go so that the chain ring is closer to the frame, or so that the chain guide is further away from the frame so that the two don't catch on each other.
Any help is much appreciated!

Add one of the 0.5 spacers to the non drive side, that should allow the chainset to move in the fraction you need it to0

I was thinking does something go on the non drive side! I will go give it a try now, will report back in a bit!

So with one fitted it still caught, and with two fitted it still caught, so all 3 0.5mm spacers on the non drive side and the chain sits perfectly in the middle of the chain device.
Is it ok to run it like this? I cant see it causing any problems, otherwise they wouldn't provide so many spacers with the device.0
