Stolen: TREK 4500, white

My TREK 4500 mountain bike was stolen from a bike stand at the University of Birmingham (Edgbaston/Selly Oak area) in the evening of February 8th. It is white, 24" hardtail frame, Shimano gears, Bontrager tyres and V-type rim brakes. The theft has been reported to the police. I have had the bicycle for two years, and it is not extremely expensive (around £600 new). However, I would really like to get it back, even if that means I'll have to pay for it. Therefore, if anyone could give me information about where bikes stolen from the Birmingham-area are most likely to end up (second-hand bike shops, e-bay and similar web-pages) I would be very thankful. Of course I would also be greatful for any other info about my bike.
