NEW WHEEL-FORK ISSUE - FORCE IT IN..?
Just replaced the Racing 7s on my Ribble Sportive with Ultegra 6700s. Will really miss the screaming rear hub...
I've noticed that unlike the Racing 7, the front Ultegra doesn't just slot into the dropouts but requires me to splay the bottom of the carbon fork ever so slightly (not much at all-we're talking a couple of millimetres at the absolute max, probably less). Additionally, paint comes off when the wheel is removed.
Given that there is no (purported) difference in axle length, should I:
(1) stop being such a fanny and not worry about applying a bit of force to push the wheel in place?
Or
(2) is this something requiring the use of a file?
(please say 1 and mean it....)
Ta!

You might find that as the bearings bed in you need to adjust them slightly, and that will make the wheel a better fit.
I'm still going to take a file to my fork dropouts. The lips that keep the wheel in place when the QR is undone are driving me potty.0 -
Cheers for tip Keef. Ideally don't want to resort to drastic filing measures yet (not with my cack-handed sausage fingers)."A gentleman who goes by the name Upgrayedd. Which he spells thusly, with two D's, as he says, "for a double dose of this pimping."0
