Hi all,
I've recently found rusty water leaking out the back of my cassette on my 2010 Spesh Rockhopper SL Pro, I wanted to do some investigating and so far have removed the cassette, axle and one of the sealed bearings from the drive side. The bearings feel good, but I still popped the seal and regreased the drive side one for good measure.
Now when I spin the hub it works fine but feels dry, so I want to remove it and investigate further and hopefully clean and regrease as a matter of preventative maintenane.
Problem I have I cannot see how to remove it from the wheel. I've read about 10m & 12 mm allen keys required down the middle but the 10mm falls straight through and the 12 will not go down.
All I can see is what looks like a internal steel cup with 2 squares/slots machined out for locating a dog driven socket/tool, is this the thing that is holding my free wheel hub in place?
Your help much appreciated!
Cheers,
Shaun

That would be very cruel. 11 is not very common.0

perhaps not very common, but surely common sense???0

Its 12mm allen key but from the non-drive side. But wasting my time as its not serviceable anyway. So wait for it to pack up then replace it.
Cheers for your help....0
