It's a 16" 29er frame. I'm 5ft 9" tall. It has a 587mm top tube and yes, they do give a very low stand over height position which is a good thing when you want to fall off. This is a Shire horse compared to a standard horse if you now what I mean! The chainstay length is 444mm on all the 29er's Scandals to accommodate the bigger wheel.
    Cheers.javascript:emoticon('')
  • Ahh I gathered it wold be a smaller frame!

looks good though. I had a 29er Scandal frame for a few weeks.... never got round to building it so I sold it :(

VW surfbum, what colour is yours, looks lke brittish racing green. I'm looking at buying one but can only chose between anodised green and pink, strangely attracted to the pink but would like to see an anodised green 1st, hard to tell the difference in the readers photos on the on one site.

No it is not a standard colour!

Mate in Castleford powder coated it for me in Kawasaki green with silver fleck!

    Cool colour!

Just read that your 5'9", damn I'm 5'7", I assume your saddle is at a normal xc riding height which means if I bought the same size my saddle may be lower than the stem :( (that would mean flipping it roady style ), at the risk of getting personal what leg length do you have.
    Thanks

    Stu,

I have a 29/30 inside leg! Lots of adjustment you can do if you are shorter in the leg. Don't be put off buying one, the 16" Scandal will be fine. As for pulling the front end up, I never do, even in the Granny gear climbing Everest. :D
I use a layback post which seems to give me the extra length in the leg position and the right space in the cot pit.

Buy a 29er and enjoy! It will make you a better/faster/more aggressive rider.
