Well i just recieved my new Shimano RT62 discs, they were packaged in a plastic bag, the discs had a paper back wrapping which was held on with sticky tape, the discs were covered with sticky tape and it was a right pain to get it all off, i had to pick at it for ages, spray WD40 to get the residue off then was in hot soapy water.
now then, is this the norm for new discs? i would of though a box would of been ideal lol, when fitting car discs we make sure they are clean and when we get them they are clean, so i dont understand why this would be done to brake discs, norm or bad packaging?
whats your views?

sounds about the norm."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Most discs I've bought for mountain bikes have been coated in a thin layer of protective oil, and have needed washing before fitting to the bike.0
