Annoying Creaking noise on my Charge Spoon

I have just fitted a new Charge Spoon and found it really comfy. However....it makes a creaking sound when I'm riding - which is doing my head in. I have fitted and refitted it several times and it still creaks. I can make it creak by applying weight to the rear of the saddle on either side even when I'm not riding.
It seems to be coming from where the rail fits in to the plastic housing.

Somebody help as it is pretty embarassing and the lads are ripping me for it.

I have an SDG saddle which is the same.

Take the seatpost and saddle out of the bike, turn it upside down and apply copious amounts of chain lube/WD40 to the lugs where the rails slot into the base. Leave overnight.

 Thanks cooldad - but I'm going with the WD40.

Sounds stupid but it does work.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

pain is weakness leaving the body...
  • Thanks all.

WD40 where the rails sit in the saddle did the trick.

This is very useful - there is a creak coming from somewhere on my bike - wasnt sure if it was seatpost (shokpost), bottom bracket or something else.

I seem to be plagued by creaks - my peddles are creaking now if I clip in but not if I use the side without clips. But even then there is a creak coming from somewhere - mainly when going uphill.

Or there may be more than one creak...

I have started thinking that there is a creak coming from the headset or fork lately too...

This gives me another option to try!

OH- I should have mentioned that it is relevant because I have a charge spoon.
  • I'm sure my knees creak.
