  • Beautiful bike.

You considered putting Shimano on it?

It'll take less time to keep the frame clean than the bar tape! And of course white bikes are easier to keep clean than darker coloured bikes (though they are harder to keep looking clean.......)

Looks very nice but I think the wheels badly need to lose the stickers. Too much going on there!

BellissimA. E' una bicicletta da corso.

Don't be concerned about the Mavic/Campy mix, don't forget that Liquigas had the same set up before they went to Sram (sob).

That bike is just beautiful. Like the Ribble Stealth vs DeRosa - bike nerds will tell you you could've saved a couple hundred quid by getting a generic Deda frame but then it wouldn't look as good as this.

Also love your specing of a 52 big ring. I do so as well, it's just that fractionally easier to turn over when going up a ramp that's increasing in pitch from 3 to 4 to 5% etc.

Crikey wasn't expecting this thread to come back to life!

The bike is still as it was. Some of the new Campagnolo Bullet clinchers might look nice on it, but the Cosmics work really well for me so I'm happy with them.

Particularly enjoyed using it on Raid Pyrenean in June, it was a very secure ride up and down the mountains in the constant bloody rain :(

Record groupset a slight disappointment if I'm honest - I think the gear change is heavier and less pleasing than the Veloce on my commuter :?

5'10" with 32" inside leg and 'normal' proportions. I got mine (frame) from Planet X where they're just about all gone, mind.

Your bike looks fantastic. So much so I want to get one. The trouble is I seem to fit slap bang between a M and a L on the sizing guide. Like you I'm 5'10 so I wondered if you could do me a favour and give me the distance from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle. If it's about 76 cm then it looks like a M will suit me as well.

    Cheers.

Hello and welcome to the forum. You do know that with the integrated post on this bike you get a hugely long seattube to cut to your size? You could get a 76cm bb to saddle length with either a medium or a large (and probably with a small as well). IMO you're better off choosing based on the top tube length as this is fixed, unlike the seattube. You can compare a current bike to the geometry chart and see which is best. Unless you're unusually proportioned it sounds like a medium will be better for you.

    Hope that helps
  • Lovely, but it's crying out for some 'italian' elite bottle cages...

  • You can tell thats a good bit of kit.

It does look very busy though, and the seatpost section just seems to have those stripe patterns on it 'because it can'.

I think it definitely would lose some branding if it was mine, but cant deny that its a nice bike.

I actually have those on my Cinelli Xperience winter/commuter. Don't think they'd work on the Guerciotti....

  • Hi,

I've just bought the Italia team replica 2013 frame forks from Planet X and I'm doing my own build. Where did you buy your seat mast from? Or does it come included with the frame and forks? Because I'm having trouble finding one for sale on the internet.

    Thanks.

Nice to see (despite the shift away from the traditional) that the Italians can still build them beautifully. The only down side I can see is that you will have to wear some bright yellow because when you go over pedestrian crossings, you'll disappear momentarily.
